Our Accounts widget within our product was the first widget we aimed to redesign and make fully native for iOS and Android users. While it was a big exploration in design it was also our first effort to move away from a mobile web structure. After lots of brainstorming and whiteboarding sessions, we built several prototypes to do some guerrilla testing with. Below is an isometric example of one of those initial prototyped designs.
The design went through several iterations and came with plenty of great feedback that helped us cater the design to the user. After all, I aim for a user-centered mindset in my design process. They are the real users of our product and know what they want and need from their online banking app better than I do.
Since the release of the newly designed accounts widget, we've been able to do more user testing and gain additional feedback to help improve the experience overall. We've made small tweaks and added features throughout the past year based on results from user testing to continue the effort to release frequent updates to the product that cater to the end user.
